Unforgiveness

Colossians 3:12-15 NIV

[12] Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. [13] Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. [14] And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. [15] Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

As Christians we are encouraged by the Word of God to forgive, when others wrong us. If the Bible says we should bear with one another it means people will offend us from time to time. Forgiveness activates the peace of God to rule in our hearts. Carrying unforgiveness in your heart is like drinking a poison and expecting that the other person will die. Jesus forgave you all of your sins and still forgives you of your seasonal unfaithfulness. This is the reason you should forgive those who wrong you. Secondly, unforgiveness hinders your prayers.

The Bible says in Mark 11:25 NIV “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Today I encourage you to be obedient to God’s Word and expect Him to grant you a fruitful life. Pray for someone you know who have the problem of unforgiveness. Have a trouble free weekend in Jesus name. You’re blessed and highly favoured.

Shalom!
